Solar Sales Development Representative

Overview

Join a growing Australian solar company as a pivotal sales resource, driving the top-of-funnel cycle through strategic prospecting and lead qualification. This is a high-impact, remote opportunity to leverage your sales expertise to hit a target conversion rate of 10–20% while helping scale a renewable energy team.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday 9-5 AEST

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and identify potential customers interested in solar system installations through outbound calling and research
  • Qualify leads and assess their suitability for solar solutions before advancing them through the sales pipeline
  • Set appointments and nurture prospects toward a buying decision, aiming for a 10–20% daily conversion rate
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospect interactions and pipeline activity
  • Build and manage a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities without relying on a pre-existing prospect list
  • Follow up with warm leads to maximize conversion opportunities

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in lead generation, appointment setting, or sales development
  • Demonstrated ability to cold call, handle objections, and close or advance sales conversations
  • Experience in the solar or renewable energy industry is highly preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and persuasion skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • High level of attention to detail when tracking leads and managing follow-ups

Scope:

  • Full-time remote position supporting an Australian solar company
  • Responsible for the full top-of-funnel sales cycle: prospecting, lead generation, qualification, and conversion
  • Operate as the primary sales resource with the potential to be part of a growing team of up to five
  • Work Monday through Friday on an agreed schedule aligned with Australian business hours
  • Report directly to the business owner on pipeline progress and conversion metrics
