NDIS Bookkeeper
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing reports, and supporting overall financial operations.
This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software (particularly Xero), and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Trustworthiness and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion are essential.
Candidates with experience in the NDIS or aged care sector will be highly preferred. However, applicants without this background may still be considered if they demonstrate strong communication skills and a solid working knowledge of Xero.
Schedule:
Mondays to Fridays, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Sydney, AU)
37.5 hours per week (includes a 30-minute unpaid break per day)
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process
- Generate, send, and follow up on invoices
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial documentation
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Handle payroll efficiently and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Collaborate with the accounting team to support audit preparations and financial reviews
- Stay current with financial policies, regulations, and industry legislation
Requirements
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, particularly Xero
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Highly Regarded Skills & Experience
- Experience in NDIS or aged care bookkeeping (highly preferred)
- Experience managing bookkeeping for international clients
- Familiarity with multiple accounting platforms
- Degree or certification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Background in bookkeeping for small to medium-sized businesses
