Job Overview

Our client is looking for a creative, strategic, and results-driven Social Media Marketing Specialist to elevate their travel brand’s online presence and drive engagement through both social media and targeted email marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate is a visual storyteller with a strong marketing mindset and an understanding of travel trends, destination marketing, and digital communication strategies—someone who can turn inspiration into measurable bookings.

Schedule

  • Flexible within NSW, AU business hours (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute engaging social media strategies; create compelling travel content including reels, destination highlights, and itineraries; and manage growth across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest.
  • Respond to inquiries and foster an active travel community while monitoring trends and evolving algorithms.
  • Work with photographers, influencers, hotels, and tourism partners to enhance brand exposure.
  • Become fully proficient in MailChimp to build, design, and manage structured Electronic Direct Mail campaigns featuring travel products.
  • Segment and maintain the membership database to ensure targeted and effective campaign delivery.
  • Monitor performance metrics for both social media and email campaigns (open rates, CTR, conversions) and provide monthly reports with strategic recommendations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing social media for a travel brand, hospitality company, tourism business, or related industry.
  • Strong storytelling and copywriting skills with a deep understanding of destination marketing.
  • Experience creating short-form video content (Reels, TikTok).
  • Proficiency in social media analytics, scheduling tools, and email performance tracking.
  • Basic photo and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, CapCut, or similar).
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Experience in email marketing and direct marketing platforms (MailChimp experience preferred).
  • Passion for travel and extensive knowledge of global destinations.
