Dental Claims Specialist
Job Overview:
This is a dedicated insurance and billing support role created to handle all insurance-related operations as the practice scales. The position will focus primarily on insurance verification, claims submission, and denial management during business hours. As the practice grows, this role will become increasingly critical to managing the expanding volume of insurance transactions.
Client Overview:
Our client is a newly established dental clinic that opened in August and is experiencing steady growth. The practice currently processes 10-15K in monthly insurance payments with expectations for significant expansion.
This is a foundational role with an opportunity to expand as this Project scales.
Schedule:
- Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 5:45 pm (US Central Time), with a 1-hour unpaid break (35 hours per week)
Scope:
- Primary focus on all insurance and billing functions, with secondary support for phone handling and social media
- Work within a HIPAA-compliant, secure remote environment provided by BruntWork
- Serve as the dedicated insurance point of contact for a growing dental practice
- Collaborate directly with the dentist and office team as an integrated remote team member
Responsibilities:
- Perform real-time insurance verification for scheduled, same-day, and walk-in patients to ensure accurate coverage details before treatment
- Prepare and submit dental insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner to maximize reimbursement
- Track, follow up on, and resolve claim denials and outstanding insurance payments
- Answer incoming patient phone calls, assist with scheduling inquiries, and navigate patients to the appropriate resources
- Support the practice's admin and social media functions by creating and posting simple content using tools such as Canva and CapCut (good-to-have skill)
- Maintain organized and up-to-date patient insurance records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Proven experience in dental insurance verification, claims submission, and denial management
- Familiarity with dental billing workflows and insurance terminology
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient and insurance data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient-facing phone interactions
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision
