Client Overview

Our client is a growing property management business in the US focused on residential leasing, tenant support, and day-to-day property operations. They are seeking a highly organized and Bookkeeper to support reconcilliations, documentations and keeping the books up to date.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full-Time Bookkeeper to manage end-to-end bookkeeping processes, including cleanup, migration, and ongoing financial maintenance. This role requires someone who is highly organized, experienced in transitioning between accounting systems, and capable of handling large volumes of historical data.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible during client's business hours | Eastern Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage QuickBooks accounts, including initial configuration
  • Create and organize chart of accounts aligned with business needs
  • Perform historical bookkeeping cleanup and catch-up work
  • Organize and reconcile up to 7 years of financial records
  • Process and digitize PDF and scanned financial documents
  • Prepare Excel reports for accountant review and compliance
  • Handle ongoing monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of financial data
  • Support migration from one accounting software to another (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
  • Maintain organized documentation and audit-ready records

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks and/or Xero
  • Hands-on experience migrating data between accounting systems
  • Experience handling historical cleanup and catch-up bookkeeping
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage large datasets and multiple financial records
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with accountants or financial advisors
  • Familiarity with U.S. accounting standards and practices
  • Experience with document management and OCR tools
