Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Benefits Verification Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the behavioral health vertical, including substance abuse and mental health services. You will collaborate directly with the client's internal management team on day-to-day tasks and contribute to the company's growth by maintaining efficient verification turnaround times.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies via live phone calls to verify patient insurance benefits for behavioral health providers.
• Cross-reference benefit information against insurance payer portals to ensure data accuracy.
• Document patient demographic information, in-network and out-of-network benefits, and level-of-care details using company templates.
• Follow up on submitted insurance claims and track their status through resolution.
• Support the appeals process by understanding denial reasons and compiling required medical records.
• Work within the behavioral health vertical, including substance abuse and mental health services.
• Collaborate directly with the client's internal management team on day-to-day tasks.
• Contribute to the company's growth by maintaining efficient verification turnaround times.

Requirements

• Experience in insurance benefits verification or medical billing within a healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with healthcare and medical terminology, particularly in behavioral health.
• Professional English fluency for clear communication with payer representatives.
• Understanding of denial reasons, appeal processes, and claims follow-up procedures.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
