Job Overview

Our client is looking for a systems-minded Operations Manager to take the reins of their daily e-commerce operations. You will start by stabilizing customer service and supplier workflows, with the explicit goal of automating these processes and stepping into a full-time leadership role within two months. This is for someone who is a "doer" at heart but has the management experience to lead a remote team.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 4 hours per day (flexible within client business hours) BST/GMT, with 1 hour unpaid/paid break (20 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Customer Experience (Phase 1): Build and implement Zendesk; manage all support tickets and introduce AI-powered chatbot apps on Shopify to reduce manual workload.
• Supply Chain Logic: Manage supplier routing and production issues; track refunds and order progress; lead the setup of product automations with suppliers.
• Catalog Management: Oversee listing management across 3+ Etsy stores and Shopify; perform Listing QA and ensure basic SEO standards are met.
• Team Leadership: Provide direction to existing VAs and implement SOPs to ensure the business runs smoothly as we scale.

Requirements

• The "Lead" Mindset: Must have previous experience managing people and remote workflows.
• Systems Expert: Proven experience setting up Zendesk and Shopify automations.
• E-Commerce Background: Experience with Etsy and Shopify is essential; basic understanding of SEO is required.
• Availability: Must be able to start at 20 hours/week with the guaranteed capacity to move to 40+ hours/week within 8 weeks.
• Proactive: You don’t just report problems; you build the automation that prevents the problem from happening again.
