Job Overview Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the financial operations of a fast-growing property management business. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reconciliation tasks, and ensuring all income and expenses are properly tracked across multiple property listings and booking platforms. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a remote setup.
Client Overview Our client is a growing holiday rental and property management business based in coastal Victoria, Australia. The company manages a portfolio of short-term rental properties and focuses on delivering seamless financial operations, accurate reporting, and strong guest and owner satisfaction. As the business continues to scale, they are strengthening their back-office finance function to support operational efficiency and financial accuracy.
Schedule Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM AEST (20 work hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Financial Record Keeping: Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including recording income, expenses, and transactions for multiple rental properties.
- Reconciliations: Perform bank and payment reconciliations across multiple accounts and booking platforms.
- Payment Tracking: Track incoming payments and ensure accurate allocation within the accounting system.
- Accounts Management: Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Financial Adjustments: Support fee adjustments, deductions, and operational financial entries.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain Excel-based financial reports and summaries.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data accuracy across bookkeeping systems and property management platforms.
- Operational Support: Work closely with the operations team to resolve discrepancies and financial queries.
Requirements
- Professional Experience: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, ideally within property management, hospitality, or a related industry.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, including AP, AR, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Technical Skills: Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
- Software Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
- Core Competencies: High attention to detail, strong numerical accuracy, and excellent communication skills in English.
- Self-Management: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience with multi-entity or multi-property bookkeeping is an advantage.
