Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Social Media Assistant to support the execution of day-to-day social media activities.
This role focuses on content scheduling, community engagement, and platform management, helping maintain a consistent and engaging online presence across multiple channels.
Schedule
- Flexible within Australian time zone; 20h per week
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and publish content across platforms (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
- Manage and maintain social media accounts, ensuring consistency and activity
- Engage with the community by responding to messages, comments, and interactions
- Monitor engagement and support audience growth initiatives
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve social media performance
- Track and report on social media activity and engagement metrics
- Research and reach out to relevant influencers and collaboration opportunities
- Collaborate with the social media manager to align on brand voice and strategy
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing social media accounts
- Ability to provide a portfolio or examples of previous work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace tools
- Experience managing social platforms for business or personal brands
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow content plans
Highly Regarded Skills & Experience
- Experience with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.)
- Basic design skills (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar)
- Background in Marketing, Communications, or related field
- Awareness of current social media trends and best practices
- Experience with analytics tools and performance tracking
