Job Overview

Our client is looking for a Psychiatric Registered Nurse to provide high-quality clinical patient support and treatment monitoring. In this role, you will manage clinical inquiries, administer psychiatric assessments, and coordinate care between patients and prescribing providers within a telehealth environment.

Responsibilities

Clinical Patient Support & Treatment Monitoring

  • Patient Triage: Monitor and manage clinical patient inquiries through the Kustomer inboxes, triaging questions related to medication side effects, dosing concerns, treatment progress, and symptom changes.
  • Clinical Assessment Support: Administer and interpret standardized psychiatric assessments including PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5, AUDIT, DAST, and C-SSRS to track patient progress and flag clinical concerns.
  • Medication Management Support: Provide informed guidance to patients on medication-related questions within your scope of practice, including expected side effects, titration schedules, and treatment timelines.
  • Treatment Plan Monitoring: Track patient adherence to treatment plans, identify patients who may be falling behind or experiencing complications, and escalate to providers as needed.
  • Suicidality Protocol Adherence: Follow established suicidality protocols with precision, ensuring timely identification, documentation, and escalation of at-risk patients in coordination with the clinical team.

Patient Communication & Follow-Up

  • Patient Follow-Ups: Conduct follow-up outreach after dose adjustments, treatment milestone reviews, and for patients who have lapsed in communication.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on their treatment plan, what to expect, and how to manage common side effects or concerns between provider appointments.
  • Compassionate Communication: Deliver clear, empathetic, and clinically accurate responses to patient inquiries, ensuring patients feel heard and supported.

Provider Collaboration & Care Coordination

  • Provider Liaison: Collaborate closely with prescribing providers to relay patient concerns, clinical observations, and assessment results that inform treatment decisions.
  • Care Team Coordination: Work with Patient Care Specialists and Care Team Managers to ensure seamless handoffs between clinical and operational support.
  • Clinical Documentation: Maintain thorough, accurate clinical documentation in the TeleJoy system for all patient interactions, assessments, and escalations.

Quality & Process Improvement

  • Patient Portal Guidance: Guide patients through the Be.Joyous patient portal for appointment scheduling, treatment updates, and resource access.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, patient communication protocols, and care coordination processes.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with providers, care coordinators, and operations teams to ensure seamless patient care across clinical and logistical functions.

Requirements

  • US Nursing License: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States. This is a firm requirement.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in psychiatry, mental health, telehealth, or primary care.
  • Psychiatric Assessment Proficiency: Familiarity with standardized assessments such as PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5, AUDIT, DAST, and C-SSRS.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written communication skills with the ability to convey complex clinical information clearly and compassionately.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to navigate EHR systems, CRM platforms (such as Kustomer), and telehealth tools.
  • Emotional Intelligence: High level of emotional intelligence with the ability to handle sensitive patient interactions with empathy and professionalism.
  • Clinical Judgment: Strong clinical reasoning and the ability to triage patient concerns, assess urgency, and escalate appropriately.
  • Self-Motivation: Able to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and responsiveness.

Qualifications

  • Experience with telemedicine, ketamine-assisted therapy, or psychedelic medicine
  • Prior experience using Kustomer or DrChrono
  • Background in psychiatric nursing, behavioral health, or mental health care coordination
  • Experience working in a remote or telehealth care team environment

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
