Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, flexible scheduling within Chicago, Central Time business hours, can work mornings or afternoons (20 hours per week)
Note: With potential to scale to 40 hours per week based on business growth

Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive cleanup of existing financial records and establish organized bookkeeping systems
- Maintain ongoing bookkeeping operations using QuickBooks Online across multiple business divisions
- Generate and maintain regular financial reports that provide clear visibility into business performance
- Manage bookkeeping for multiple business lines (construction, concrete, roofing, landscaping) within unified company structure
- Handle vendor management documentation including W-9s and 1099s for subcontractors and suppliers
- Provide analytical insights and recommendations on cost efficiency opportunities and spending patterns
- Ensure accurate categorization of income and expenses across different service divisions
- Support month-end closing processes and prepare financial summaries for management review
Requirements:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online with demonstrated hands-on experience
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial record maintenance
- Experience managing books for companies with multiple business lines or revenue streams
- Ability to generate accurate financial reports and maintain organized documentation
- Bonus if you have construction industry bookkeeping experience
- It helps if you have experience with vendor management and tax documentation (W-9s, 1099s)
