Job Overview

Our client is seeking a results-driven Business Development Representative to drive growth for a premier transportation and logistics company. This role focuses on generating high-value leads for a 40,000-square-foot warehouse facility specializing in refrigerated and dry freight storage across Western Canada. You will be responsible for identifying and engaging large-scale organizations—including major retailers, manufacturers, and food production companies—to provide bulk and seasonal storage solutions. This is an end-to-end sales support role, from initial cold contact to setting qualified appointments and assisting in the closing process.

Client Overview

The client is a logistics leader operating a major warehouse facility in Western Canada. They serve a diverse portfolio of retail and production clients, providing critical infrastructure for temperature-controlled and dry freight distribution.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Conduct daily outbound cold calling to target retail chains, manufacturers, and production facilities requiring warehouse storage.
  • Strategic Prospecting: Research and identify potential high-value clients using Google, LinkedIn, and other digital tools to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Professional Outreach: Draft and send tailored follow-up emails detailing rate structures and service capabilities to interested prospects.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule qualified meetings for senior leadership and actively participate in sales calls to facilitate the closing process.
  • Sales Planning: Develop and execute consistent sales plans to ensure a steady flow of leads for freight and storage services.
  • Data Management: Maintain meticulous records of all outreach activities, prospect data, and follow-up schedules within company spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in cold calling and business development with a mindset of aggressive follow-through and persistence.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, specifically for engaging C-level executives and business owners professionally.
  • Strong ability to use online platforms to identify, qualify, and vet potential B2B clients.
  • Ability to handle rejection professionally and maintain high activity levels in a competitive sales environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous sales experience in warehousing, logistics, real estate, or B2B services is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with Canadian retail, manufacturing, or logistics landscape is highly preferred.
