Job Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled E-Commerce Web Developer to join our team. In this role, you will lead end-to-end website and web application development, ensuring seamless functionality, scalability, and strong user experiences across multiple platforms. You will be responsible for turning design mockups into fully functional digital products while maintaining high standards for SEO, speed, and security. The ideal candidate is a technical expert who stays updated on emerging web technologies and can collaborate effectively with both designers and clients.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEST, with 30 minutes paid break (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end website and web application development, from design to deployment.
• Build and customise WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and custom functionality.
• Develop and maintain Shopify stores through theme customisation, app integrations, and e-commerce optimisation.
• Create responsive Webflow websites with custom code when required.
• Collaborate with design teams to turn mockups and wireframes into fully functional websites.
• Implement and maintain CMS solutions for easy client content updates.
• Optimise websites for SEO, speed, and overall performance.
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, analytics, and marketing platforms.
• Test websites across devices and browsers to ensure consistent UX.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and secure existing websites.
• Stay updated on web development trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Experience: 4+ years of web development experience with a strong, diverse portfolio.
• WordPress Expertise: Expert in custom themes, plugin development, and PHP customisation.
• Shopify Proficiency: Experienced in theme customisation and e-commerce integrations.
• Webflow Skills: Proficient in Webflow with custom interactions and advanced functionality.
• Front-End Stack: Strong skills in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive design.
• Back-End Knowledge: Familiarity with PHP and MySQL is advantageous.
• Best Practices: Deep knowledge of web performance, SEO, accessibility, and security.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and project management abilities.
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills; able to work effectively with designers and stakeholders.

Side Note

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
