You’ll take ownership of critical financial operations for a well-established real estate rental business, ensuring accurate month-end reconciliations while supporting broader administrative functions. Client Overview:

Our client is an established real estate rental business with over 20 years of successful operations, managing multiple properties across different entities. They are a small, experienced team that prides themselves on handling all property management in-house, placing a high value on precision in financial record-keeping.

With a growing portfolio of 5-15 rental properties, they offer a stable environment with streamlined operations and clear processes already in place.

Schedule:

  • Eastern Time (US East Coast) [20 hours per week minimum], monthly bookkeeping cycle with 1-2 days of intensive work per month - flexible schedule

Independent Contractor Perks:

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements for multiple entities at month-end
  • Perform monthly bookkeeping across 5-15 rental properties and associated companies
  • Maintain accurate financial records following US accounting principles and practices
  • Handle general administrative tasks to support daily business operations
  • Support back-end administrative functions as needed to optimize workflow
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Collaborate with business owners to ensure financial processes meet operational needs

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience with strong attention to detail
  • Solid knowledge of US accounting principles and financial reconciliation practices
  • Experience with accounting software and month-end closing processes
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
  • Reliable internet connection and professional communication skills
  • Bonus if you have experience with real estate or property management accounting
