Job Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm System CAD Designer to support the design and drafting of fire alarm system plans. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in fire alarm systems, who can accurately interpret requirements and produce compliant, high-quality drawings.

This will initially be a part-time role, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, Flexible within 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Pacific Time (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Design and draft fire alarm system plans based on project requirements
• Create and modify CAD drawings and floor plans for fire alarm layouts
• Ensure all designs comply with NFPA 72 standards and regulations
• Review and interpret project specifications, architectural drawings, and system requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of plans
• Revise drawings based on feedback and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Proven experience in fire alarm system design and drafting
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)
• Solid understanding of NFPA 72 codes and fire alarm regulations
• Experience working with floor plans and technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, compliant designs
• Excellent English communication skills

Qualifications

• Spanish language proficiency (spoken and/or written) is a plus
• Familiarity with San Francisco fire alarm codes and requirements
• Experience working with U.S.-based fire protection or engineering projects
