Role Overview
We are building a pipeline of skilled Mechanical Estimators / Take-Off Specialists in anticipation of an upcoming hire. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing detailed quantity take-offs across a wide range of mechanical services for construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience in mechanical estimating within the UK construction industry.
Schedule:
- Flexible within client's business hours (but also open to part-time, 4 hours per day, 5 days per week) | GMT

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical services including:
- Air Conditioning (AC)
- Ductwork & Ventilation
- Drainage systems
- Water services
- Heating systems
- Chilled water systems
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documents
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all take-offs
- Work closely with the client to meet project deadlines
- Assist with cost estimation and pricing (if required)
- Maintain organized records of estimates and project files
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical estimating or quantity take-offs
- Strong knowledge of mechanical building services systems
- Experience working with UK construction projects (highly preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in take-off and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
- Ability to work independently using their own initiative
- Experience with Countfire or similar software is beneficial
- Preference for UK estimating experience
Nice to Have
- Background in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Experience working with estimating firms or subcontractors
- Familiarity with UK standards and regulations
