Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive bookkeeping cleanups for new clients with 3 months to 1+ years of backlogged records
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts with precision
- Record and categorize financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
- Prepare profit and loss statements and other essential financial reports
- Process payroll transactions and related entries
- Create and manage invoicing systems for client businesses
- Work with Financial Sense software for task management and client communication tracking
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding questions or missing documentation during cleanup process
- Resolve discrepancies in financial records using strong problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (certification preferred)
- Experience with bookkeeping cleanup projects and catch-up work
- Ability to work independently and efficiently on project-based assignments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
- Experience with US-based accounting practices and standards
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction
- Bonus if you have experience with Financial Sense or similar task management platforms
- It helps if you’re comfortable with flexible scheduling and project-based work cycles
