Data & IT Engineering Manager

The Role

As the Data & Engineering, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering scalable data and engineering solutions for clients. This role combines hands-on technical capability with strong client-facing project management, ensuring solutions are well-architected, delivered on time, and aligned to business. This is a practical, execution-focused role. You are comfortable working directly with data pipelines, tracking plans, architectures, and implementation details, while also managing project scope, priorities, risks, and communication across client and internal stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Technical Project Management:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex client engagements, from discovery and scoping through implementation, QA, launch, and ongoing optimisation.

  • Act as the primary day-to-day technical contact for clients, translating business requirements into clear technical plans, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Lead technical pre-sales support, including scoping work, shaping solution approaches, and contributing to proposals. business.

  • Manage delivery risks, dependencies, priorities, and stakeholder communication to keep projects on track.

Data Architecture & Engineering

  • Define and implement solution architectures across data ingestion, warehousing, transformation, activation, and reporting layers.

  • Design and review tracking plans, schema structures, data models, and pipeline logic to ensure accuracy, scalability, and maintainability.

  • Set and maintain engineering standards for testing, QA, documentation, observability, and deployment. Make sound build vs buy decisions based on technical fit, maintainability, speed, and commercial value.

Technical Oversight of Delivery Tasks

  • Coordinate technical work across a distributed team, ensuring tasks are clearly scoped, assigned appropriately, and delivered to standard.

  • Review technical outputs such as pipelines, queries, tracking implementations, and documentation to maintain quality and consistency.

  • Provide technical direction on active workstreams, unblock delivery issues, and step into implementation where required.

  • Maintain visibility over multiple concurrent engagements, balancing workload, deadlines, and quality of delivery.

AI & Process Improvement

  • Embed AI and automation into engineering and delivery workflows where they improve speed, quality, or repeatability.

  • Build reusable templates, implementation frameworks, and technical playbooks that improve consistency across projects.

  • Contribute to internal improvements across tooling, QA processes, documentation, and technical operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 5 10 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, solutions architecture, or related technical delivery roles.
  • Strong experience delivering client-facing technical projects in a consultancy, agency, or multistakeholder environment.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platforms, including data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, event tracking, and transformation layers.
  • Strong SQL and proficiency in Python, Node.js, or similar technical languages used in implementation workflows.
  • Ability to translate business problems into clear technical solutions, delivery plans, and implementation priorities.
  • stakeholder management, project coordination, and technical communication skills. Practical experience using AI tools to improve delivery, analysis, or engineering workflows.

Preferred

  • Experience with CDPs and customer data tools such as Segment, Customer.io, Klaviyo, HubSpot, or Braze.
  • Exposure to marketing technology, lifecycle systems, or RevOps environments.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms such as n8n or Make, and AI-driven workflow orchestration. Experience working in a fast-growth, remote, or distributed delivery environment.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time, permanent. Fully remote, no location requirement.
  • Distributed team across Philippines, Greece, Spain, and Australia (AEST, PHT, EET, CET).
  • Occasional travel to client sites and client's events in Australia and overseas.

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary benchmarked to your local VP-level market rate.
  • Annual performance bonus of 15-20% of base, tied to delivery outcomes, team development, and AI/process initiatives.

  • HMO after 90 days
  • Paid Time off and Holidays after 90 days

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
