Technical Support Representative – Life Safety Equipment

Position Summary:

This role provides technical support for the client's life safety equipment, troubleshooting issues across product lines, and guiding clients through solutions with exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include hardware/software installation and configuration, issue resolution, and thorough documentation. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset, along with a solid understanding of network fundamentals and a collaborative, adaptable approach.

Schedule:

  • Mondays to Fridays, 2:00 to 6:00 pm (US Eastern Time, 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day)
  • Potential to transition into a full-time role in the future

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot technical issues for life safety equipment across all product lines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when working directly with communities and clients affiliated with our equipment.
  • Use critical thinking to apply solutions and resolve technical issues presented on a case-by-case basis.
  • Talk clients through a series of actions to resolve a problem.
  • Install and configure hardware and software.
  • Walk clients through the configuration of hardware and software when applicable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, or similar software, with the ability to learn new tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience handling customer service and/or tech support roles in BPOs (voice)
    • Good verbal English communication skills
    • Basic knowledge of JavaScript or light scripting/coding experience (e.g., reading, understanding, or modifying simple scripts)
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Successful completion of on-the-job training
  • Preferred:
    • Associate degree
    • Technical support or technology-based background
    • At least 3 years of related experience

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
