Our client is looking for a highly skilled Project Scheduler/Planner to develop, maintain, and optimize schedules for complex construction and engineering projects. This role requires a technical expert proficient in both Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 to build detailed timelines, monitor real-time progress, and identify potential delays. You will be the backbone of project forecasting, ensuring that timelines are realistic, coordinated, and perfectly aligned with project objectives.

Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Auckland, NZ Time, with a 30-minute unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities
- Schedule Development: Develop robust baseline schedules for complex projects using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Progress Monitoring: Update schedules regularly, analyze variances, and conduct Critical Path Analysis (CPA) to identify potential delays.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to gather data and ensure scheduling alignment with milestones.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify scheduling risks early and recommend proactive mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Advanced Reporting: Prepare detailed look-ahead schedules, progress reports, and integrate resource or cost loading as required.
- Meeting Support: Lead and support project planning meetings, providing clear and professional schedule presentations to key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Project Scheduler or Planner specifically for complex projects.
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Deep understanding of the Critical Path Method (CPM) and general project controls.
- Ability to interpret complex project drawings, specifications, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Strong analytical skills with a high commitment to detail and organizational accuracy.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in the engineering, industrial, or construction sectors (Highly Regarded).
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple timelines simultaneously (Preferred).
- Experience with resource loading and productivity metric integration (Preferred).
- Excellent English communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer (capable of running Primavera P6 and MS Project) and a reliable internet connection. You are responsible for your own taxes and benefits.
