Business Development Representative (BDR)

Role Overview: We are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive growth for our packaging brokerage services. The primary focus of this role is to identify and connect with Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) brands across the U.S. market. You will be responsible for the "top of the funnel"—from initial research and cold outreach to securing discovery calls for our sales leadership.

Shedule: Monday to Friday; 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Lafayette, CO Time (40 hours per week, 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid break).

Core Responsibilities

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting

  • Targeted Research: Identify high-potential CPG brands and key decision-makers (Procurement, Operations, and Brand Managers) who require innovative packaging solutions.
  • List Management: Build and maintain high-quality lead lists within our CRM, ensuring all data is accurate and segmented by industry or packaging needs.
  • Qualification: Vetting prospects against our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) to ensure the sales team focuses only on high-value opportunities.

2. Outbound Cold Outreach

  • Cold Calling: Conduct high-volume outbound calls to U.S.-based prospects to introduce our brokerage services and spark interest.
  • Email Sequencing: Execute multi-touch cold email sequences with a high degree of accuracy and personalization.
  • Appointment Setting: Convert cold interest into scheduled discovery calls or appointments for the sales team.
  • Documentation: Log every touchpoint, call note, and follow-up task meticulously in the CRM.

3. Email Campaign Setup & Execution

  • Automation Management: Prepare and schedule templated outreach via email automation tools.
  • Quality Control: Proofread all communications for formatting and errors prior to deployment.
  • Analytics Tracking: Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including open rates, click rates, and response trends.

4. Pipeline & Reporting

  • CRM Hygiene: Ensure the sales pipeline is clean and up-to-date at all times.
  • Weekly Reporting: Deliver comprehensive daily and weekly activity reports to management.
  • Collaboration: Partner with sales leadership to iterate on scripts, subject lines, and targeting strategies based on market feedback.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in outbound sales, preferably in a B2B or brokerage environment.
  • Experience with CPG industries or packaging is a significant plus.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and email automation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
  • Ability to handle rejection with resilience and maintain high activity levels.

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
