About the Company

The Company is an international business operating with strong governance, reporting standards, and structured financial processes to support long-term growth and operational efficiency. The company focuses on maintaining high standards in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial management to support its expanding operations. We are currently looking for a UK Qualified Accountant to support the company’s financial management, reporting, and compliance with UK accounting standards.

Role Overview

The UK Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with UK financial regulations, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. The role requires strong experience in UK accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax compliance. This position will work closely with leadership and internal teams to maintain accurate financial data, provide insights for business decisions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

 Schedule

  • Monday to Friday; 9am – 6pm UK Time, One (1) hour unpaid daily break

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP / IFRS).
  • Manage general ledger activities including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Prepare management accounts and financial statements.

Compliance & Taxation

  • Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Assist with corporation tax, VAT returns, and HMRC filings.
  • Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors where required.

Financial Analysis & Budgeting

  • Assist with financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

Process Improvement

  • Improve accounting processes and financial reporting systems.
  • Support implementation and optimization of accounting software.
  • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are maintained.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • UK-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

  • 3–5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Experience handling UK-based companies or UK accounting standards.
  • Experience with financial reporting, compliance, and taxation.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • UK GAAP / IFRS
    • Financial reporting
    • VAT and UK tax compliance
  • Experience with accounting software such as:
    • Xero
    • QuickBooks
    • Sage
    • or similar systems.

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with international or multi-entity businesses.
  • Experience in outsourced accounting or remote finance teams.
  • Knowledge of financial automation tools and reporting dashboards.

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
