Job Overview

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive E-commerce Operations & Marketing Support Assistant to help manage both the backend operations and customer-facing communications of a growing online brand. This role is ideal for someone who can work autonomously, manage daily business operations, and act as the owner’s trusted support. You will monitor key communication channels, respond to customer inquiries, assist with SEO and social media marketing initiatives, and ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the business. You will play an important role in maintaining customer satisfaction, managing operational tasks within Shopify, and keeping the business owner informed of important issues requiring attention.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Communication & Inbox Management: Monitor and manage social media inboxes, comments, and Outlook email. Respond to inquiries in a timely, professional, and brand-aligned manner, escalating items requiring the owner’s direct attention.
  • E-commerce Operations (Shopify): Manage inquiries related to orders, shipping, and product info. Process refunds, returns, and order adjustments. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the fulfillment team to ensure accurate order processing.
  • Social Media Engagement: Engage with the brand’s audience by responding to comments and DMs. Maintain a consistent brand presence and alert the owner to emerging trends or issues. (Note: Content creation is handled by a separate agency).
  • SEO & Digital Marketing Support: Assist with SEO-related activities to improve online visibility. Support ongoing marketing initiatives and monitor performance metrics or customer sentiment trends.
  • Business Operations Support: Organize backend systems (Dropbox, operational records) and assist with basic administrative tasks. Step into established operational workflows to ensure business continuity.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in e-commerce support, customer service, or digital operations.
  • Hands-on experience working with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong written communication skills for customer engagement and inbox management.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and sharp attention to operational detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple communication channels simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of SEO fundamentals and digital marketing principles.
  • Experience managing social media engagement and community management.
  • Familiarity with inventory awareness and order fulfillment coordination.
  • Experience supporting small business owners or e-commerce entrepreneurs.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
