Level 1 IT Technician

Job Overview
The Level 1 IT Technician is the first point of contact for technical support, handling basic troubleshooting, user account management, and system monitoring to ensure high uptime for managed service clients. This is an entry-level role ideal for candidates with hands-on MSP experience using Autotask PSA and Datto RMM.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming tickets in Autotask PSA and provide professional Level 1 support
  • Troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Manage basic Microsoft 365 user accounts (password resets, permissions, account creation)
  • Monitor system alerts in Datto RMM and escalate critical issues
  • Assist in workstation setup and software deployment
  • Provide remote support using screen-sharing tools
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and escalate complex issues to senior engineers

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of IT support experience (entry-level)
  • MSP experience mandatory
  • Foundational troubleshooting skills with a willingness to learn
  • Strong communication skills for client interactions
  • Reliable high-speed internet for remote work

Mandatory Experience

  • Autotask PSA (ticketing, time entry, status updates)
  • Datto RMM (remote access, alert monitoring)

Technical Skills

  • Basic Windows OS support (10/11)
  • Microsoft 365 navigation
  • Basic networking knowledge (connectivity, Wi-Fi troubleshooting)
  • Familiarity with remote desktop tools
  • Strong customer service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • CompTIA A+ certification or in progress
  • Experience with documentation platforms like IT Glue
  • Previous experience in customer service or call center environments

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
