Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager / Senior Accountant with strong leadership capabilities and a solid accounting background. This role combines team management, quality control, and client communication while also contributing to bookkeeping and higher-level accounting review.The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately seven remote staff members, ensuring work quality, meeting deadlines, and maintaining strong relationships with both the internal team and external clients.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, mentoring teams, and working closely with business owners and clients in a collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage a team of approximately seven accounting and bookkeeping professionals.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight, support, and motivation to ensure the team performs at a high level.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive working environment.
  • Understand each team member’s strengths, attitude, and motivation, and help them develop professionally.

Accounting & Financial Oversight

  • Review bookkeeping and accounting work produced by the team to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support both operational bookkeeping tasks and higher-level accounting reviews when required.
  • Maintain high standards in financial reporting and client deliverables.

Quality Control & Deadline Management

  • Monitor the quality of work produced by the team.
  • Track deadlines and ensure that all deliverables are completed on time.
  • Implement processes that improve efficiency, organization, and accuracy.

Client Communication

  • Communicate directly with clients when appropriate to provide updates or clarification.
  • Ensure clients receive a high level of service and responsiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with clients by maintaining clear, professional communication.

Strategic Coordination

  • Work closely with company leadership on team coordination and operational improvements.
  • Provide feedback and insights on team performance and workflow processes.
  • Contribute to the long-term growth and development of the team structure.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant (or equivalent accounting qualification).
  • 5–18 years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
  • Experience managing or supervising teams in an accounting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and financial reporting processes.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Confident, personable, and naturally extroverted personality.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance team management with technical accounting work.
  • Highly organized with strong deadline management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with UK accounting standards or UK-based clients.
  • Experience working with international or remote teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Prior experience in a client-facing accounting role.
