JOB OVERVIEW

This position focuses on organizing and managing large volumes of medical and legal documentation to support expert witness case preparation. The successful candidate will perform administrative tasks that streamline case review processes, allowing the medical expert to focus on clinical analysis and opinion formation. This is a part-time remote role requiring 20 hours per week with significant potential for growth as caseload increases.

CLIENT OVERVIEW

A medical professional providing expert witness services in medical-legal cases requiring detailed analysis of patient documentation and case materials. The role supports the preparation of expert medical opinions for court proceedings involving medical negligence and malpractice claims.

Schedule:

Mon-Fri (20 hours per week, part-time, specific hours to be determined with candidate)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and organize thousands of pages of medical and legal documents in chronological order for expert witness cases.

  • Identify and extract relevant information from patient records and case files based on instructions from law firms.

  • Prepare formatted reports, summaries, and documentation required for case analysis and court proceedings. Maintain organized digital filing systems ensuring easy access to case materials and documentation.

  • Ensure all documents are handled and stored in compliance with UK GDPR data protection regulations. Coordinate communications related to case assessments and respond to professional emails regarding patient reviews and case inquiries.

  • Assist with scheduling, general administrative inquiries, and correspondence management related to medical-legal work.

  • Support ad hoc administrative tasks relevant to expert witness medical-legal case preparation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional phone and email etiquette.

  • Proven administrative skills with high attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

  • Computer proficiency with ability to manage digital files and documentation systems.

  • NICE-TO-HAVE REQUIREMENTS Previous experience working in legal environments or paralegal background.

  • Familiarity with UK GDPR regulations and confidentiality requirements in medical or legal settings.

  • Understanding of medical or legal terminology and documentation processes. Experience with document summarization or case file preparation.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
