US Senior Accountant

Work Schedule:

  • 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 6:00pm EST, with one hour of unpaid break

Responsibilities:

  • Support the full accounting operations of a CPA firm.
  • Perform review and compilation work for non-public companies in accordance with US GAAP, including financial statements, documentation, footnotes, and required checklists.
  • Manage year-end close activities in QuickBooks, including bank and loan reconciliations, fixed asset updates, depreciation, and journal entries.
  • Handle monthly accounting and bookkeeping on a cash or accrual basis.
  • Prepare federal tax returns, including Forms 1120-S, 1120, and 1065.
  • Assist with tax advisory services and related accounting work.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and follow security protocols when handling client information.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal bookkeeping and accounting team.
  • Adjust workload and availability based on seasonal demands (especially during busy season).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience (5+ preferred).
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Experience working with US-based clients or remote teams is preferred.
  • Ability to securely handle confidential financial information.
  • Proficiency with accounting and tax software, including CCH ProSystem fx Tax and CCH Engagement.
  • Experience with TaxDome or similar practice management software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of US accounting principles and tax preparation processes.
  • Reliable internet connection and professional remote work setup (multi-monitor preferred).
  • Must haves
    • US public CPA firm or bookkeeping firm experience
      • Specifically in providing ongoing monthly/quarterly services to multiple external clients (Not internal accounting roles at a single company)
    • Strong Quickbooks online experience
      • Accurate categorization of transactions from bank feeds and other sources
      • Ability to perform Monthly Bank, Credit card, and loan reconciliations
      • Preparing and posting month-end/year-end closing Journal entries, accruals, and adjustments to ensure accurate financials
    • Proven track record of handling multi-client enviroments with varying industries, chart of accounts, and reporting needs
  • Nice to haves
    • Ability to prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly financial statements for clients review
    • QuickBooks ProAdvisor cert

Scope:

  • Full-time availability during busy season is required.
  • Fully remote role with secure access to client systems.
  • Direct integration with the CPA firm’s team, workflow, and processes.
  • Requires handling confidential financial data in a secure environment.
  • Flexible scheduling to align with US business hours from the Philippines.

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
