Job Overview
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for executing core accounting tasks for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, proficiency with accounting software, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and clients. Experience with CCH accounting platforms is very important for success in this position.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM [Timezone], with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities
- Execute core accounting tasks, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and bank feed management
- Reconcile bank statements, credit cards, general ledger accounts, AR, and AP in compliance with GAAP
- Assist with month-end close by analyzing balance sheets and income statements
- Communicate with clients via Slack and email, and participate in weekly client calls as needed
- Use provided workpaper templates and follow established checklists to ensure quality and consistency
- Keep AirTable updated with task status and client information
- Ensure calendars are updated every Friday for management planning
- Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities to partners and management
- Arrange coverage and train others when planning personal time off (PTO)
Requirements
Technical Knowledge
- Working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks (QBO/QBE), NetSuite, Bill.com, and CCH (experience with CCH is very important)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
