Assistant Accountant

Job Overview

The Mission

You are the architectural support for the company’s financial integrity. Rather than just processing data, you will serve as the Financial Controller’s right hand, ensuring that the transactional engine of a multi-location wholesale business runs without friction. Your mission involves mastering high-volume accounts payable and receivable, maintaining pristine records across various regional offices, and evolving into complex reconciliations as you solidify the foundation. By owning the day-to-day transactional flow, you enable senior leadership to pivot toward strategic growth while you ensure every cent is accounted for within their MYOB Advanced ecosystem.

Client Overview

Support the financial heartbeat of a premier Australian importer of commercial textiles and packaging with five national hubs. This role offers the chance to partner directly with a Financial Controller to streamline high-volume operations for an established 40-person team.

The Profile

You are a precision-oriented accounting professional who finds satisfaction in a perfectly balanced ledger. You don't just "enter data"—you audit as you go, spotting discrepancies before they become bottlenecks. You thrive in a high-volume environment where accuracy is non-negotiable and are comfortable navigating the nuances of cloud-based accounting from a remote setting. With a proactive mindset, you act as a gatekeeper for financial data, bringing a sharp eye for detail and a collaborative spirit to the Australian business day.
