Job Description:

You’ll play a pivotal role in revolutionizing how commercial painting estimates are created, working remotely to support high-value projects across Florida’s commercial market. This is an exciting opportunity to combine your estimation expertise with cutting-edge remote collaboration, helping to prove that digital takeoffs can match field-verified accuracy.

You’ll work closely with an experienced on-ground team while having the autonomy to manage your estimation workflow, prepare draft estimates, and assemble professional proposals that clearly define project scope and requirements.

Client Overview:

A growing commercial painting company specializing in large-scale projects across shopping centers, HOA communities, condo complexes, and commercial spaces. They’re expanding their capabilities through strategic remote partnerships and testing innovative approaches to streamline their estimation process while maintaining the high-quality standards that drive their success.

Schedule:

  • Part-time (20 hours per week, approximately 4 hours daily) with flexible timing during standard business hours (8 AM - 5 PM EST)

  • Client Timezone: Eastern Time (Florida)

Responsibilities:

Digital Takeoffs

  • Utilize Google Earth and any available plans to measure buildings and relevant surfaces
  • Provide accurate square footage calculations and surface breakdowns
  • Perform precise digital takeoffs for commercial painting projects including shopping centers, HOA communities, and condo complexes
  • Ensure measurements align closely with field verification standards

Estimate Preparation

  • Prepare draft estimates using provided spreadsheets and templates
  • Apply spread rates, labor rates, and material costs accurately
  • Select appropriate coating systems using dropdown selections (Sherwin-Williams, PPG, Behr, etc.)
  • Compile project calculations and ensure all estimate components are complete and organized
  • Maintain accurate documentation of calculations using Excel spreadsheets

Proposal Assembly

Using the company’s standard template, prepare professional client-facing proposals that include:

  • Client name and property address
  • Project overview and scope summary
  • Detailed scope of work tailored to each project
  • Surface preparation requirements
  • Recommended coating system (products and number of coats)
  • Clear inclusions and exclusions
  • Annotated project photos with arrows and notes to clarify scope
  • Format proposals using Microsoft PowerPoint

Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with on-ground teams to confirm estimate feasibility and accuracy
  • Utilize Monday.com for project tracking and workflow coordination
  • Support the testing and refinement of remote estimation processes
  • Contribute to establishing best practices for digital and field estimation collaboration

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of estimation experience, preferably in construction or painting industry
  • Experience performing digital takeoffs using Google Earth, plans, or similar tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for calculations and proposal creation
  • Strong understanding of construction measurements, materials, and labor costing
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in numerical calculations
  • Ability to follow structured templates and processes
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience with Monday.com or similar project management platforms
  • Commercial painting or construction industry background
  • Familiarity with coating systems such as Sherwin-Williams, PPG, or Behr products
