Power BI & Acumatica Reporting Specialist
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Power BI Expert with Acumatica experience to develop dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions for construction operations. This role requires strong capability in connecting and blending data from multiple sources, including Acumatica ERP, SQL databases, Excel/SharePoint, and Open APIs (REST/JSON). The ideal candidate is comfortable handling both structured reporting needs (job cost, WIP, project margin) and fast-turnaround requests from leadership and operations.
About the Company
Our client is a company based in Vancouver, Canada which operates in the construction/building design industry. They operate on a project basis, by the mention of project numbers on invoices and the need for project manager approvals.
Schedule:

Monday to Friday, flexible during client business hours, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, PST, with 1 hour unpaid lunch break (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-quality Power BI dashboards for construction and financial reporting (WIP, job costing, AR/AP, cash flow, project profitability, etc.)
- Extract and model data from Acumatica ERP
- Connect to and integrate data using:
- SQL databases
- Excel and SharePoint
- Cloud sources
- Open APIs (REST/JSON)
- Develop robust ETL and transformation processes using Power Query (M) and/or SQL
- Write advanced DAX measures for construction KPIs (earned value, cost-to-complete, forecast vs actual, etc.)
- Ensure consistency of metrics across the business (standard KPI definitions and reporting logic)
- Publish and manage reports in Power BI Service, including refresh schedules, access controls, and RLS
- Troubleshoot dataset refresh issues and improve performance
- Support internal teams with general reporting inquiries, ad-hoc analysis, and dashboard enhancements
- Document datasets, logic, and reporting standards for long-term scalability
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI
- Strong experience with Acumatica ERP reporting/data
- Advanced skills in DAX and Power Query
- Strong SQL experience
- Experience integrating data from multiple sources
- Experience connecting to and working with Open APIs (REST/JSON) for data extraction and reporting
