Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing patient billing activities, performing insurance verifications, processing claims, and ensuring compliance with medical billing regulations, particularly in dermatology. This role involves working closely with the on-site Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) manager and the US-based billing team to maintain accurate and efficient billing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform insurance verifications and manage prior authorizations for patient treatments.
- Process claims submissions and ensure timely follow-up with insurance companies to resolve any issues.
- Utilize the EMMA EMR system (dermatology-specific) to accurately manage patient billing records.
- Support the billing team with overflow and specialized billing tasks as needed.
- Maintain organized and accurate documentation of all billing activities.
- Collaborate with the on-site RCM manager and US-based billing team to resolve billing discrepancies efficiently.
- Ensure adherence to medical billing regulations and dermatology-specific compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in dermatology or outpatient clinics.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, ideally EMMA or similar dermatology-focused software.
- Strong knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and claims processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of medical billing regulations and compliance standards.
