A fast-growing hemp products e-commerce startup has just launched and is scaling rapidly. The company is building a compliant online business with significant shipping operations and ambitious growth plans. The founder is highly engaged and focused on creating a sustainable, expanding operation where team members can grow alongside the business.
You’ll be the first dedicated team member, working directly with the founder to build and scale a Shopify-based store. This is more than a traditional admin role — you’ll take ownership of key e-commerce operations while gaining opportunities to expand into marketing and business development as the company grows.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize product listings on the Shopify platform
- Coordinate shipping and receiving operations for e-commerce orders
- Process product updates and inventory changes across the website
- Handle administrative tasks and correspondence during slower periods
- Support daily operational planning and startup initiatives
- Participate in regular communication and planning sessions with the founder
- Adapt quickly to evolving priorities in a fast-paced startup environment
- Prepare for future responsibilities such as marketing emails and distributor outreach
Requirements
- 1–2 years of hands-on e-commerce experience
- Proficiency managing the Shopify platform
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication skills for daily collaboration
- Ability to work U.S. business hours with Central Time overlap
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills in a startup setting
- Experience with shipping/receiving processes is a strong plus
- Interest in growing into marketing and outreach responsibilities is highly valued
