Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM London, UK Time
  • 20 hours per week

Overview:

We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our client's team on a part-time, freelance basis.

The role will involve preparing accurate, detailed quotations and tenders; reviewing project specifications and scope; assessing costs and materials; and ensuring submissions are both competitive and commercially sound. The successful candidate will also represent our client professionally when engaging with clients and play a key role in supporting business growth through securing new work.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate quotations and tender packages for structural repairs, concrete repairs, scanning, remedial & heritage works
  • Keep an up-to-date schedule of rates to assist in accurate quotations
  • Assess and consider site constraints, access limitations, phasing, and methodology impacts when pricing
  • Maintain an understanding of the ever-changing market and competition
  • Manage variations, including identification, valuation, negotiation, and agreement
  • Track project costs against tender allowances
  • Capture lessons learned and feed cost data back into future tenders

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Proven Quantity Surveying and Estimating experience in structural and/or concrete repairs
  • Knowledge of UK construction rates, preliminaries, and risk allowances
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings, repair specifications, and condition surveys
  • High accuracy in pricing and commercial /residential judgment
  • Proficient in Excel and estimating tools (experience with Monday.com or similar CRM systems advantageous)
  • High level of accuracy, commercial awareness, and attention to detail
  • Self-managed, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
