Financial Accounting Analyst
Job Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced professional to own end-to-end accounting for multiple clients while contributing to smarter, more scalable internal processes. This role goes well beyond execution; the ideal candidate anticipates issues, elevates standards, and helps shape how work gets done across the firm.
This is a high-ownership opportunity for someone with strong technical depth, sharp business judgment, and the confidence to lead with clients and internally. You’ll work in a fast-evolving environment where systems, workflows, and tools (including AI-enabled solutions) are continuously improving.
Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities Multi-Client Accounting Ownership
- Manage a portfolio of clients with accuracy, speed, and strong client service.
- Own full-cycle accounting: AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
- Apply fluency across both operational accounting and technical/GAAP matters.
- Maintain clean, audit-ready financials while balancing competing priorities.
- Act as a trusted partner by surfacing issues early and proposing practical solutions.
Financial Analysis & Insight
- Build advanced models, dashboards, and KPI reporting in Google Sheets.
- Analyze trends and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic finance initiatives.
- Communicate results in a polished, business-ready manner (written + verbal).
Tech-Forward Process Development
- Operate in a cloud-based environment with continuously improving workflows.
- Identify, test, and implement technology improvements, including AI-enabled enhancements.
- Apply systems thinking to make work simpler, faster, and more scalable.
- Create templates, documentation, and firm-wide standards that raise quality.
Leadership & Quality Control
- Delegate and oversee work across the team to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Review deliverables and uphold rigorous quality standards.
- Coach and support junior team members through feedback and guidance.
- Contribute to scalable processes and best practices across the firm.
Workflow & Capacity Management
- Maintain the close calendar and deadline schedule across multiple clients.
- Track budgeted hours vs. actuals; flag scope creep and resourcing risks early.
- Build and maintain Asana workflows (tasks, dependencies, templates, recurring cycles) to keep deliverables on time and execution predictable.
Requirements Technical Requirements
- Advanced Google Sheets skills (complex formulas, modeling, structured design, error-proofing).
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and Xero (NetSuite a plus).
- Comfortable learning new tools quickly and working in modern accounting tech stacks.
- Understanding of cloud-based accounting systems and integrations.
- Familiarity with AI tools and practical applications in accounting/finance is a strong advantage.
- Some coding/development experience is a plus.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a multi-client environment (or similar high-velocity accounting setting).
- CPA/CMA or advanced accounting degree required.
- Strong GAAP foundation with hands-on technical accounting experience.
- Prior experience in a Big 4 professional services firm is a significant advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English (clear, concise, business-ready).
- Proven judgment, problem-solving ability, and fast learning curve.
