Overview
We’re hiring a Senior UX/UI designer with exceptional visual taste and a strong command of modern design standards. This role requires someone who can think systemically, execute quickly, and ship high-quality work with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design modern, intuitive UX/UI for mobile-first and responsive web products
• Build, maintain, and evolve scalable design systems in Figma
• Create interactive Figma prototypes for web and mobile experiences
• Translate product requirements into clear, thoughtful UX flows and UI solutions
• Produce high-quality visual assets including icons, UI elements, illustrations, and simple logos
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams via Slack, Linear, and regular meetings
• Provide clear UX rationale and design decisions grounded in best practices
• Execute quickly while maintaining a high bar for polish, consistency, and usability
• Work comfortably with Magazine–related content and imagery as part of day-to-day design work.

Must-have requirements

• Strong visual portfolio demonstrating modern, polished UX/UI
• Working Figma prototypes (interactive, not static)
• Live / working URLs showcasing shipped interfaces (web or mobile)
• Expert-level Figma skills (design systems, component libraries, variants, auto-layout)
• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems
• Strong Figma prototyping skills for mobile and web
• Solid understanding of Material Design and Apple Human Interface Guidelines
• Experience designing mobile-first and responsive web products
• Working knowledge of Webflow (structure, handoff, implementation awareness)
• Ability to create vector content from scratch (icons, UI elements, illustrations, simple logos, visual assets)
• Ability to follow direction precisely while also contributing smart, creative ideas
• Senior-level judgment, attention to detail, and clear UX rationale
• High speed of execution without sacrificing quality
• Comfortable working with Magazine content and imagery as part of day-to-day design work

Big plus

• Experience with Stable Diffusion or similar AI tools
• Ability to create realistic AI-generated visual content

Process & collaboration

• Full-time, remote
• Available on Slack from 10am–4pm Eastern for collaboration and meetings
• Daily progress updates maintained in Linear and summarized in Slack
• Familiarity with Linear or similar project management tools required
• Bi-weekly team meetings
• May require a 2–4 hour paid design task as part of the interview process
