We are seeking a highly experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to take ownership of a multi-year catch-up and cleanup project and transition into ongoing maintenance. This role is ideal for someone who excels at organizing historical financial records, working efficiently under deadlines, and collaborating directly with a business owner.
The immediate priority is to catch up and clean approximately four (4) years of bookkeeping, with a target completion date of end of February.
Scope of Work

Perform a full catch-up and cleanup of four (4) years of bookkeeping records

Ensure all records are accurately completed and ready for tax review

Transition into ongoing maintenance bookkeeping once cleanup is complete

Work directly with the business owner for clarifications and coordination

Support tax-related preparation as needed

Review, clean up, and organize historical financial data in QuickBooks

Accurately categorize transactions and correct misclassified entries

Reconcile bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts

Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and documented

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable entries

Handle invoicing and payment tracking

Support payroll-related entries as required

Prepare books for tax filing and collaborate with CPA/tax professionals

Maintain accurate and timely financial records on an ongoing basis
Requirements

CPA designation or substantial experience supporting U.S. tax preparation

Strong experience with U.S. taxation and compliance

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)

Proven experience performing multi-year catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping projects
