Overview
We are a growing U.S.-based primary care medical practice seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA) / Medical Scribe to provide real-time clinical documentation support during patient visits. This role requires live participation in clinic workflows via Zoom and direct collaboration with physicians throughout the day. Prior experience in medical scribing, strong medical terminology knowledge, and familiarity with eClinicalWorks (preferred) are essential for immediate productivity.
Job Highlight
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST (1-hour unpaid lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Work Arrangement: Work from home
Contract: Independent Contractor
Side Note:
This is a permanent remote work-from-home position. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection, a professional home office setup, and remain on camera during work hours. Contractors manage their own benefits and taxes. Hourly rates are based on performance and experience.
Responsibilities
Clinical Documentation & Scribing

Participate in Zoom calls throughout the clinic day, following the provider’s patient schedule in real time.

Perform live medical scribing during patient visits, including:

History of Present Illness (HPI)
-
Review of Systems (ROS)
-
Medication reconciliation
-
Past medical, surgical, family, and social history
-

Accurately document patient encounters in real time within the EMR.

Enter provider-directed orders for medications, imaging, laboratory tests, and referrals.

Prepare patient charts prior to visits.

Ensure notes are complete and ready for provider review by the end of the day.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Medical Scribe or Virtual Medical Assistant.

Experience working with U.S.-based healthcare providers.

Strong medical terminology and documentation skills.

Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.

Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
