Position Overview
The Web Systems Developer is responsible for designing, building, maintaining, and evolving the web platforms and technical systems that support digital marketing across multiple brands.

This role is hands-on and development focused, with a strong emphasis on WordPress as a core platform. The ideal candidate is a developer who understands how websites, performance, SEO, tracking, and integrations work together, and who can adapt quickly as tools, platforms, and business needs evolve.

This person will execute technical work directly, contribute to architectural decisions, and support marketing and strategy teams by building reliable, scalable web solutions.

Core Responsibilities

Website Development & Platform Management

• Build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using structured, scalable templates
• Develop and maintain custom WordPress plugins or functionality when needed
• Perform theme customization and component development
• Support Shopify sites when required, including theme edits and feature enhancements
• Ensure clean content hierarchies, maintainable codebases, and consistent CMS standards

Front End & Back End Development

• Write, debug, and maintain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for frontend functionality
• Customize WordPress behavior using PHP and REST APIs
• Troubleshoot front end and back end issues affecting functionality, performance, or tracking
• Support more complex systems and workflows as projects evolve

Technical SEO & Site Performance

• Implement technical SEO fundamentals including indexation, internal linking, canonicals, and structured data
• Optimize sites for performance, Core Web Vitals, and modern search environments
• Ensure websites are prepared for AI and entity driven discovery
• Conduct audits and implement fixes directly or coordinate execution

Tracking, Analytics & Data Foundations

• Implement and maintain GA4, Google Search Console, and GTM configurations
• Set up conversion tracking for forms, calls, bookings, and custom events
• Understand attribution flows and data collection well enough to support diagnostics and strategy

Automation & Integrations

• Build and maintain integrations between websites, CRMs, and third party tools
• Use automation tools, scripts, APIs, and webhooks to streamline workflows
• Support chat, scheduling, SMS, and form integrations across platforms

Technical Support & Documentation

• Support SEO, content, and strategy teams by implementing technical requirements
• Document systems, workflows, and architectural decisions
• Act as a technical problem solver when systems break or need to scale

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience as a web developer or in a technical web focused role
• Strong hands on experience with WordPress development
• Solid proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience building or maintaining custom WordPress functionality or plugins
• Strong understanding of site performance, maintainability, and technical SEO fundamentals
• Comfortable working with integrations, automation tools, or webhooks
• Strong problem solving ability and high learning agility
• Ability to adapt quickly to new platforms, tools, and technical requirements

Preferred Skills

• Shopify theme or Liquid experience
• Familiarity with React or modern JavaScript frameworks
• Experience working with APIs and structured data
• Familiarity with schema markup and JSON-LD
• Experience with Google Apps Script, Node, or similar
• Exposure to server environments, caching, or performance optimization
• Experience integrating with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Zoho, or Salesforce
