Travel Agent Support Specialist
M-F 8AM - 5PM MST with 1hr unpaid lunch
Role Overview:
The Travel Agent Support Specialist provides operational and administrative assistance to travel consultants and clients, ensuring smooth booking processes and exceptional customer service. This role requires proficiency in Global Distribution Systems (GDS), Sabre, and strong problem-solving skills to handle booking issues, supplier coordination, and online tool troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strong Communication Skills:
o Be able to communicate over email and phone in English.
• GDS Expertise (Sabre):
o Create, modify, and manage reservations using Sabre.
o Process passive bookings and ensure accurate PNR documentation.
• Quoting & Booking:
o Prepare and deliver accurate travel quotes for air, hotel, and car services.
o Assist with complex itineraries and fare calculations.
• Invoice & Payment Management:
o Collect and verify invoices from shared folders to assist your dedicated team.
• Supplier Coordination:
o Communicate with airlines, hotels, and other travel suppliers to book travel over the phone.
o Negotiate and confirm special requests or changes.
• Online Booking Tool Support:
o Troubleshoot technical ticketing issues with online booking tool errors.
o Ensure all tickets are sent out to client within 30 minutes of error.
• Customer Service:
o Respond within 10 minutes to emails with your dedicated team.
o Maintain a high level of professionalism towards your dedicated team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Sabre GDS (mandatory); at least a year of experience
• Strong understanding of travel industry processes and terminology.
• Excellent communication in English and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with online booking tools and troubleshooting.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a travel management company or travel agent environment.
• Knowledge of travel policies and compliance standards.
