Mon - Friday 9:00 -5:00 Eastern time (one unpaid lunch hour included).
Position Purpose
The Human Resources Coordinator position will provide front line support on a variety of HR
issues/functions to staff, faculty, management and executives to help create a positive
corporate culture and align employee performance with organizational goals.
The HR Coordinator will also provide excellent customer service to those in the Tyndale
community with HR inquiries.
Primary Responsibilities
RECRUITMENT
Receive approved staffing requisitions and create / edit job postings based on approved job
descriptions.
Assist with the development of job descriptions as required.
Post job openings on the Tyndale job board and website, as well as external sources.
Create recruitment files for positions available.
Coordinate the scheduling of interviews.
Create orientation packages.
Generate student employment contracts.
Maintain the recruitment screening database.
Develop and maintain job description and job posting inventory.
Answer job inquiries via e-mail, phone, mail, or in person.
HR ADMINISTRATION
Provide administrative and operational support to the department by maintaining the
departmental filing system, databases/HRIS.
Assist with the maintenance and tracking of staff performance evaluation, including inputting
performance evaluation ratings into the HRIS.
Assist with the maintenance of the HR website and Time Tracker system.
Liaise with government program providers (eg. CRA, Service Canada).
Liaise with External Auditors.
Ensure HR data is entered accurately and in a timely manner for payroll.
Prepare documentation relating to transfer/promotion, contract extensions, status change and
pay change.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS AND SUPPORT
Assist with the implementation and enforcement of HR policies, guidelines, procedures and
processes.
Provide support to both supervisors and employees on HR legislation, policies, and procedures,
while ensuring compliance.
Work with departments to align departmental HR needs with departmental as well as
organizational goals.
Work with the Manager to coordinate employee events (e.g. Christmas Celebration.
Service Award Ceremony, staff appreciation day, etc.) to improve employee engagement,
promote a positive work environment, and ensure effective employee relations.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Assist with the logistics for employee training (First Aid & CPR, Health & Safety, AODA, etc.),
including managing RSVP’s, room bookings, and catering.
Generate training certificates as required.
Onboard new staff incorporating training above, in addition to company policies, procedures.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Ensure new employee forms are returned, completed and forward to the HR Manager for
approval.
Coordinate Tyndale’s benefit programs with staff, liaise with benefit providers regarding
enrollment of employees and service inquiries/issues, and update the Manager in matters
relating to service, coverage as well as administrative processes.
Liaise with payroll on compensation and benefits related matters pertaining to new hires,
promotion/other changes, terminations, etc.
Payroll backup coverage.
HR PROJECTS
Produce ad hoc reports as required, including organization charts a and other HR reports (i.e.,
government reports, staff lists, recruitment activity, compensation related reports, etc.)
Coordinate the Canada Summer Jobs program.
Position Qualifications
Education
Degree or diploma in Human Resources
Working towards or completed CHRP
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in HR with good experience in recruitment & selection,
employee relations, HR Administration and Payroll and Benefits
Skills and Abilities
Experience with HRIS database – ADP’s People@Work and Pay@Work
Knowledge of applicable government legislation, policies and procedures
Experience in an HR Coordinator or HR Assistant role
Strong project management skills
Strong decision making and problem solving skills

Computer proficiency in MS Office applications, advanced in Excel
