They produce specialty food products distributed across Australian supermarkets and expanding into Southeast Asian markets. The company is currently modernizing their financial systems and needs an expert to support their growth during this exciting transition period.

 

Job Description: 

You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy for a growing manufacturing business while supporting their transition to more sophisticated accounting systems. This is an opportunity to work directly with business owners who value precision and expertise, with the potential to expand your responsibilities as you demonstrate your skills. You’ll have the autonomy to implement best practices while ensuring compliance with Australian financial regulations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile invoices and process accounts payable/receivable transactions with meticulous attention to detail
  • Input financial data into both current (Xero) and new (Odoo) accounting systems during the transition period
  • Process receipts and ensure accurate categorization and coding for all transactions
  • Review and verify automated reconciliations to prevent errors and maintain supplier relationships
  • Prepare accurate records for BAS (Business Activity Statement) returns and tax compliance
  • Handle payroll processing through established systems
  • Assist with Odoo system transition and setup leveraging your ERP expertise
  • Ensure full compliance with Australian taxation requirements and financial obligations

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with Xero accounting software and Australian bookkeeping practices
  • Strong knowledge of Odoo ERP system (intermediate to advanced level preferred)
  • Solid understanding of Australian tax law, BAS requirements, and compliance obligations
  • Experience with accounts payable/receivable processing and payroll systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail with focus on accuracy over automation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with Australian business owners
  • Bonus if you have manufacturing or inventory management experience
  • It helps if you have experience managing dual accounting systems during transitions
