Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a healthcare professional to become the vital communication bridge in a specialized surgical practice. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients navigating their healthcare journey, managing the complete patient experience from initial consultation through follow-up care. Working with cutting-edge medical database technology, you’ll coordinate seamlessly between patients, referring physicians, and the surgical team while supporting practice growth through strategic outreach. This role combines clinical knowledge with administrative excellence, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in a supportive, professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all incoming patient calls with warmth and professionalism, scheduling initial consultations and follow-up appointments using Gentu medical database software
  • Provide compassionate pre-procedure guidance and answer patient questions about colonoscopy preparation and other surgical procedures using established protocols
  • Coordinate seamlessly with the in-person reception team on hospital bookings and proactively follow up on any missed or incomplete scheduling
  • Execute targeted marketing campaigns by crafting and sending professional correspondence to referring general practitioners, including service summaries and digital presence promotion
  • Generate comprehensive daily reports by downloading patient demographics, insurance information, and file data from the public healthcare system
  • Serve as the primary point of continuity for patient care during days when in-person staff is unavailable, ensuring no patient inquiry goes unanswered
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment to prioritize urgent communications requiring immediate physician attention versus routine matters for end-of-day reporting
  • Support practice growth initiatives through systematic referrer outreach and relationship building with the medical community

Requirements

  • Essential: Demonstrated experience with Gentu cloud-based medical database software
  • Clinical background strongly preferred, ideally nursing qualification or formal medical training
  • Exceptional English communication skills with a naturally gentle, empathetic demeanor suitable for sensitive medical conversations
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse patient populations, particularly female patients in private medical situations
  • Proven ability to work independently while making appropriate clinical and administrative decisions
  • Solid experience in medical appointment scheduling, patient coordination, and healthcare administration
  • Professional telephone manner with genuine commitment to patient service excellence
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in medical record management and patient follow-up protocols
