Job Description

This is a dynamic sales support role where you’ll drive business growth through strategic lead generation and appointment setting for a successful indoor farming operation. You’ll be the crucial first point of contact that connects locally-grown, premium microgreens with new restaurant and grocery partners. This position offers the perfect blend of research, relationship building, and sales strategy in the fast-paced food service industry. You’ll work directly with the business owner to expand their client base while supporting an established sales team, making a direct impact on the company’s growth trajectory in an exciting and sustainable industry.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct weekly market research to identify new restaurants and grocery stores opening in the local market
  • Execute strategic cold outreach campaigns via phone calls, emails, and social media to potential commercial clients
  • Manage and update existing leads in the company CRM system with weekly follow-up activities
  • Research and connect with key decision makers including executive chefs, restaurant owners, and grocery buyers
  • Schedule 3-4 high-quality appointments per week for the primary salesperson and 2-3 appointments for additional sales team members
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including new contact information, email addresses, and pipeline progression
  • Create professional voicemails and follow-up email sequences when direct contact isn’t achieved
  • Verify and research contact information for prospects reached through various channels
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling around the sales team’s sample delivery routes and availability windows

 

Requirements

  • Proven track record in sales, appointment setting, or lead generation roles with measurable results
  • Strong cold calling experience with the ability to handle rejection professionally and maintain persistence
  • Excellent communication skills with natural ability to build rapport quickly over the phone
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot experience strongly preferred)
  • Self-motivated professional who thrives working independently with minimal supervision
  • Solid understanding of B2B sales processes and lead qualification techniques
  • Strong research skills with ability to identify and qualify target prospects effectively
  • Professional phone presence with persistence in follow-up activities and relationship building
