Role Title: Finance & BI Analyst (Xero + SQL/Metabase)

Core Responsibilities
Basic Accounting / Bookkeeping (≈50 %)

Record day-to-day transactions in Xero; upload, code, and file bills, receipts, and invoices.

Perform daily bank, credit-card, and Stripe reconciliations.

Assist with month-end close: prepare reconciliations, support BAS/GST filings, keep the chart of accounts tidy.
SQL & Analytics (≈40 %)

Build and maintain Metabase dashboards and charts for finance, product, and marketing teams.

Write efficient SQL queries (joins, CTEs, window functions) to surface revenue, cohort, and subscription KPIs.

Validate data sources and troubleshoot query or model issues.
Process Improvement & Collaboration (≈10 %)

Document repeatable finance and BI workflows.

Suggest automation or reporting enhancements as the business scales.

Work closely with the in-house Financial Accountant and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver ad-hoc insights.
Minimum Requirements

1+ years hands-on bookkeeping or accounting

Working knowledge of Australian GST/BAS (or can learn and can ramp quickly).

Proficient in SQL for analytical queries and data validation; experience building dashboards in Metabase (or Looker/Power BI/Tableau).

Intermediate-to-advanced Excel/Google Sheets.

High attention to detail, and reliable home-office setup with daily overlap to AEST.
Nice to Have But not Required

CPA (PH) or equivalent qualification.

Experience with Stripe-heavy SaaS or subscription businesses.

Familiarity with dbt, BigQuery, Redshift, or similar modern data stacks.
