Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our finance team and take ownership of essential day-to-day accounting operations. Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive spreadsheet work and perform detailed financial reconciliations using advanced spreadsheet techniques
- Handle all aspects of accounts payable processing, including timely vendor payments and relationship management
- Oversee accounts receivable operations, including professional invoicing, billing activities, and collection follow-up
- Execute daily bookkeeping operations using Sage 50 Pro Premium software with accuracy and efficiency
- Collaborate closely with the finance team to maintain precise and up-to-date financial records
- Support the strategic transition of financial operations, enabling senior team members to focus on high-level business development
- Work seamlessly with external accounting professionals during year-end and other critical financial periods
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting experience in a professional environment
- Expert-level proficiency with Sage 50 Pro Premium software (this is essential for success in this role)
- Advanced Excel and spreadsheet management skills with ability to create complex reconciliations
- Proven experience managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Strong background working specifically with for-profit companies and understanding commercial accounting practices preferred
- Demonstrated ability to perform accurate financial reconciliations and maintain data integrity
- Exceptional attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in all financial data management
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment
