Job Description
They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join the team on a full-time, remote basis. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in Canadian tax preparation, bookkeeping, and GST/HST compliance. You will manage a substantial portfolio of clients, providing year-round bookkeeping and seasonal tax services while working closely with the internal team and existing outsourced partners.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive bookkeeping services for 30–40 clients using Xero and QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Ensure full GST/HST compliance, including preparation and filing of returns in line with Canadian regulations.

Prepare personal tax returns (T1) using TaxCycle during tax season.

Support or prepare corporate tax returns (T2) where required.

Collaborate with internal team members to deliver accurate and timely financial services.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely completion of all client work.

Manage both ongoing bookkeeping and seasonal year-end tax engagements.

Utilize Caseware for year-end financial statement preparation and reporting.

Communicate proactively with clients regarding deadlines, documentation, and financial queries.

Work in coordination with our external partners, where some year-end work is currently handled.
Requirements:

Experience with Canadian tax laws, including personal (T1) and corporate (T2) tax compliance.

Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks Online (QBO), TaxCycle, or Caseware.

Extensive knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping practices and GST/HST filings.

Proven ability to manage a high volume of client files (30–40 clients) efficiently and accurately.

Understanding of Canadian year-end procedures and reporting standards preferred

Demonstrated success in both tax preparation and bookkeeping roles.
