Job Description
This is an exceptional opportunity to make an immediate and measurable impact by leading the SEO recovery efforts for a major e-commerce platform that has experienced significant challenges. You’ll be tasked with diagnosing and resolving complex SEO issues that resulted from a recent platform migration, working to restore organic traffic from 5,000 monthly clicks back to the previous benchmark of 60,000+ clicks. This role offers the perfect blend of technical problem-solving, strategic thinking, and hands-on implementation, allowing you to showcase your expertise while contributing to a well-established brand’s digital renaissance. You’ll have the autonomy to work independently while being supported by existing tools and resources, making this an ideal position for an experienced SEO professional who thrives on challenges and measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Lead the comprehensive diagnosis and resolution of SEO issues that caused a dramatic traffic decline following a website platform migration
- Develop and implement strategic SEO recovery plans to restore organic traffic from current 5,000 monthly clicks to previous levels of 60,000+ clicks
- Optimize the BigCommerce e-commerce platform for enhanced search engine performance and user experience
- Take full ownership of SEO initiatives with minimal supervision, demonstrating independence and strategic thinking
- Collaborate with the product management team to create and optimize product listings that drive both traffic and conversions
- Leverage SEMrush analytics to identify opportunities, track progress, and refine optimization strategies
- Establish sustainable SEO practices and maintenance protocols to ensure long-term traffic growth and stability
Requirements
- Proven track record as an SEO specialist with demonstrated success in recovering from significant traffic drops
- Strong expertise in e-commerce SEO optimization with measurable results
- Experience working with BigCommerce platform or similar e-commerce platforms
- Proficiency with SEMrush and other professional SEO analysis tools
- Exceptional ability to work independently and take initiative without requiring structured guidance
- Experience in product creation and optimization within e-commerce environments
- Google Ads experience is highly valued but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose complex technical SEO issues
- Excellent communication skills for reporting progress and collaborating with internal teams
