Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable Dental Insurance Eligibility Specialist to support a dedicated dental team in verifying patient insurance and managing claims. This role ensures patients receive timely care by accurately assessing coverage, resolving claim issues, and maintaining clear communication with the practice team. It’s a remote position offering full support, structured workflows, and the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient access to treatment.
Job Highlights
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST (1-hour unpaid break)

Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive insurance eligibility verification for dental patients
- Access and navigate practice management systems through secure remote connections
- Contact insurance companies to follow up on pending claims and resolve issues
- Input eligibility information and updates into designated practice management systems
- Follow established practice guidelines and verification workflows
- Communicate directly with the practice team regarding patient insurance status and updates
- Maintain accurate records of all insurance verification activities and outcomes
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient scheduling and treatment planning
Requirements
- Previous experience performing insurance eligibility verification, preferably in the dental field
- Familiarity with dental insurance processes, terminology, and common procedures
- Proven experience making calls to insurance companies for claims follow-up and resolution
- Comfortable with remote computer access and practice management software navigation
- Reliable computer setup and high-speed internet connection for seamless remote work
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after initial training
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for accurate record keeping
- Bonus: experience with VPN systems, remote desktop applications, dental coding, and treatment authorization processes
Side Note:
Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
