Product Research & Collection Designer
Product Research & Collection Designer (Jewelry)
About the Role
We are looking for an independent, senior-level Product Researcher & Designer to help grow our jewelry brand in the US and Western markets. This is a standalone role focused on market research, collection development, and product design — you will own the full process from spotting trends to handing off production-ready plans to our supplier.
This role suits someone who thinks like both a merchandiser and a designer: you can spot what's selling, understand why it fits (or doesn't fit) our brand, and translate that into new collections and individual pieces our customers will want to buy.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Competitor Research
• Continuously research competitors and the broader US jewelry market to identify trending items, styles, and gaps in our current offering
• Track what sells well in the US/Western market specifically (as opposed to other regions), and translate that into actionable product ideas
• Analyze our own sales data to identify our current hot-selling items, and use those as a starting point for related designs and collections
• Monitor competitors' Facebook Ad Library to see which products they are actively advertising (a strong signal of what's performing well for them), and use this as direct input for new product ideas
• Run full competitor analyses (product range, pricing, positioning, best-sellers, ad activity) on a regular basis to consistently feed the idea pipeline with fresh, market-validated concepts
Collection & Set Development
• Build cohesive collections and sets that align with our brand identity and existing product lines
• Curate combinations of items (e.g. matching sets) that increase average order value and reflect current demand
Design Work
• Redesign or adapt existing jewelry pieces to better fit our target audience and Western market preferences
• Design complementary items to expand existing product lines (e.g. matching earrings, bracelets, or necklaces for a piece we already sell)
• Design work should focus on the concept, silhouette, and details that matter to the customer — not on producing complex technical files. Enough detail/clarity is needed so our supplier can understand and produce the item; heavy CAD/technical drafting skills are not required.
Supplier Coordination
• Prepare clear, concrete design plans/specs to send directly to our supplier for production
• Ensure plans are complete enough that the supplier can move to sampling/production without back-and-forth on basic details
Output & Pace
• Deliver multiple new items ready to go live each month
• Work independently, managing your own research-to-design pipeline with minimal day-to-day supervision
What We're Looking For
• Proven experience in jewelry design and/or product development, ideally with exposure to the US or Western consumer market
• Strong sense of current jewelry trends and ability to translate research into sellable products
• Comfortable designing in tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar (technical CAD skills are a plus but not required)
• Self-directed, able to manage multiple product lines/deadlines with minimal oversight
• Strong communication skills to prepare clear specs for suppliers (written English)
Nice to Have
• Familiarity with jewelry manufacturing/sourcing processes
• Basic technical drawing skills sufficient for supplier hand-off
• Prior experience designing for a DTC/e-commerce jewelry brand
Work Setup
• Remote, full-time
• Availability aligned to Netherlands business hours (to be confirmed)
